Tom Wavra, a seasoned artist with deep roots in the classic rock and folk scenes, has recently released his new album "Back In The Day." This excellent collection includes five brilliant songs: "Back in the Day," "Heard It in the Wind," "State of Mind," "Summer in the Delta," and "Deadwood."
The album showcases Wavra’s exceptional songwriting skills, his remarkable vocal range, and his ability to transport listeners back to the golden era of rock, folk, and country music. Wavra’s musical journey began in his hometown of Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he started playing guitar at the age of 13. By the mid-1980s, he was already performing around the region in several bands, singing a diverse repertoire that spanned from Johnny Cash and Elvis to Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest.
Wavra’s new album, “Back In The Day,” is the culmination of a 20-year journey, featuring contributions from an all-star lineup of Twin Cities musicians. Recorded at Winterland Studios and F5 Sound House from 2014 to 2024, the project faced numerous delays due to life’s challenges and the pandemic. The passing of producer and keyboard guru James Walsh of Gypsy served as a driving force to complete the album.
