Hi Jon, thank you so much for being with us today! We are thrilled to know more about your artistic journey! Your latest single, the excellent “Take Me Higher” is a great addition to your discography and we can’t wait to know more about this release as well, but let’s start from the very beginning; when did you discover your passion for music?

It started in the early 2000s when I was working in clubs. Becoming friends with the DJs and being shown music that brought joy to so many people. It wasn’t long before I got my first set of decks and picked up some club residencies soon after.

You’ve been a mainstay in the Brisbane and Melbourne music scenes for over a decade. How have these cities influenced your music style and approach to house music?

House music has changed a lot over the past 10 years, and being able to work closely with it in both cities with some great artists has allowed me to find my sound and the direction I want to take my music in.

Your motto is to “not hold back & for your music to serve as a vessel to become one with the crowd.” Can you tell us how this philosophy shapes your DJ sets and production process?

I try and build my sets with lots of energy, big vocals, and basslines. I try to create dancefloors where everyone gets lost in the music and forgets about what’s going on in the world. My productions are very similar with lots of energy and big baselines.

What inspired you to focus full-time on production and take the leap into creating original tracks like “Take Me Higher”?

I’ve been working hard on my production for the past few years and the support this release has received has pushed me to focus all my energy into my projects.

Congratulations on the release of “Take Me Higher”! What was the creative process behind crafting this uplifting and anthem-like track?

I wanted a project with some big vocals in it. Once I found them I added a big driving bassline to the project. The final step was to add lots of elements and layers to keep the listeners engaged and wanting more.

The track has been described as a guaranteed dance floor filler. How do you ensure your music resonates both in intimate club settings and massive festival stages?

For me a catchy hook, a Big baseline, and lots of other elements keep the listeners engaged in both the clubs and also the big stages. I try to keep it interesting and not repetitive.

“Take Me Higher” is your debut on Sweatbox Records. How did this collaboration come about, and what made this label the right fit for your debut single?

Sweatbox is one of my favorite labels. I have been following them since I first started my production journey, and I’ve also been DJing with some of their artists. As I’ve found my sound resonated with the label which led to the release of “Take ME Higher.”

The track has received support from notable artists like Nic Fanciulli, Don Diablo, and Jamie Jones. How does it feel to have such industry heavyweights backing your work?

It’s a great feeling. Having support from these artists shows I’m heading in the right direction with my production and it has given me the push I need to concentrate on production full-time.

Who are some of your biggest influences in house music, and how do they inspire your sound? Your music has been praised for its ability to bring people together. What do you think is the key to creating tracks that connect with such a wide audience?

Crusy is one of my biggest influences right now. The way he creates layers in his production inspires me to think outside the box and create a great record. For me creating a catchy hook a good buildup and adding other elements to keep the listener engaged is helping attract a wider audience to my work.

You’ve moved from being a DJ on online radio stations to focusing on international gigs. How has this transition shaped your goals as an artist?

Being in the online stations has built me a good fanbase and also introduced me to some great producers who have definitely helped me in my production journey and given me great advice on getting my music out to the world, for me this is the next step in my journey.
